Great to hear from you. My son was taught by Bernard Brown from nearby Heaton. We should be transcribing some more burial records in the winter so you will be able to check those out. The Robinson family have been in the area for years so presumably that was the reason for staying at Wetwood Farm. Good luck with your research. Irene

Thanks Irene great information, very helpful. Do you know if any of the Browns or Robinson's are actively working on their family history I am hopeful that i may be able to connect with someone who has photos of our common ancestors.
Thx very much.

Matthew Brown and Mary Robinson were my 3rd great grandparents. They had nine children that we have found so far. Their son Matthew married Mary Stevenson and had three children: Mary Ann, Henry and George. George in turn had three children, Hilda, Arthur and George Henry. Arthur was my grandfather. Nickie

I only came across this site tonight when attempting to do some research about the Brown family in Leekfrith for Don Brown in Ontario. He got in touch a few weeks ago and I see that he's a few steps ahead of me as he already posted on the forum last year. Matthew Brown and Mary Robinson were also my 3rd great grandparents. One of their 9 children, Thomas, (brother of Matthew) married Mary Hulme and they had 8 children. The third born, John, married Ruth Oliver and the third of their 7 children, also named John, was my grandfather. He married Ethel Lizzie Barker in Cubley in 1920 and my Mum, Doris Brown, was born the same year in Marston Montgomery and she will be celebrating her 91st birthday in August. If we have any other common links Nickie I would love to hear from you or any other Brown family members. I have quite a few old family photos from the late 1800's and early 1900's which I am anxious to try and identify as my Mums eyesight and memory are fading now. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org for quick and easy contact. Best wishes Brian

I too am descended from Matthew Brown and Mary Robinson- also as 3rd Great Grandparents!
Via Sarah Ann Brown who married Samuel Heath
And then their son William Heath who married his 1st Cousin Clara Heath.
I have never been able to find out who Mary Robinson's parents were, do any of you have this information?
